Available in Italy from September 16, 2016, the new, thinner and lighter PS4 system (CUH-2000 series) has a 30% smaller volume than previous models and a 25% lighter weight than the original model (CUH-1000 series) and a 16% lighter weight than the second model (CUH-1200 series). The new PS4 system is also more energy efficient, with electricity consumption reduced by more than 34% compared to the original model and 28% compared to the second model.

Furthermore, with an eye to the future of imaging technology, all PS4 systems, including the new slimmer model and PS4 Pro, support (via system software update) HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology*, which allows for improved reproduction of light and shadows and offers a much wider range of colors. Owners of an HDR-compatible TV will be able to enjoy games and other supported content with more realistic, extraordinarily vivid images that are truer to how the human eye actually sees the world.
